GILLESPIE, JR. -- Charles R. Gillespie, Jr., age 79, died Friday, January 6, 2006 at a local hospital. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Maxine Gillespie of Albuquerque, NM; sons, James Hubbs of Albuquerque, NM, Richard and Dell Hubbs of Boise, ID, and Robert Gillespie and wife Janie of Las Vegas, NV. He is also survived by his brother, George Gillespie and wife Emma of Santa Fe, NM; sister, Charlene Davis; five grandchildren, Dojoni, Bobbi, Billie Jo, Janelle, and Darren; three great-grandchildren, Courtney, Caitlyn, and Jose. Charles served in the US Navy during WWII. He retired in 1988 from the New Mexico State Highway Department after 30 years of service. Services will be held Wednesday, January 11, 2006 at 8:00 a.m. at French Mortuary Wyoming Chapel. Internment will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery at 10:30 a.m. Visitation will be held Tuesday, January 10, 2006 from 4:00pm until 8:00pm at the French Mortuary Wyoming Chapel.
