CLOUGHLY -- Mary Louise Bezemek Cloughly, 90, of Claremont, CA, passed away in her sleep November 25, 2005, in Claremont. Mrs. Cloughly was born November 5, 1915, in Albuquerque, NM, and has been a Claremont resident since 1977. Youngest of the four children of James Bezemek and Mary Frances McKnight Bezemek, Mrs. Cloughly grew up on the large dairy owned by her parents. A graduate of Albuquerque High School, she was Honored Queen in Job's Daughters. She received her BA in Economics and did graduate study in education at the University of New Mexico. Mrs. Cloughly taught English in Espanola and Albuquerque for almost 40 years. She served as secretary of the Albuquerque Classroom Teachers Association and was a member of the New Mexico Retired Teachers Association, the Chi Omega Sorority, the Order of Eastern Star in Albuquerque, and later played in the Hand Bell Choir at the United Church of Christ, Congregational, Claremont. She was a devoted mother and grandmother, and is survived by her daughter, Cecilia Louise Cloughly of Claremont; son-in-law, Frank Stott of Claremont; granddaughter, Heidi Louise Bird of Claremont; grandson, Charles Cloughly of Georgetown, KY; great-granddaughters, Ainsley Louise Bird and Alyssa Jacqueline Bird; and two nieces, Sharon Gorman and Marcella Farmer, both of Albuquerque, NM. Private services will be held. In lieu of flowers, friends may wish to make memorial contributions to the Claremont Symphony Orchestra, P.O. Box 698, Claremont, CA 91711.
