ROMERO -- Marcos A. Romero, age 63, passed away on Tuesday, November 15, 2005 at the Hospice unit at Kaseman Presbyterian Hospital in Albuquerque, NM. He was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer in March of the same year. The son of Rev. Epifano and Alice Romero, both deceased, he leaves behind his son, James A. and daughter in law, Debra Romero; son, Mario Romero; brother, James P. Romero, his wife, Mary Romero; niece, Alicia Romero; nephew, Jeremy Romero; nephew, Tom Trujillo and partner, Sherry Bell. Family and friends send their sincere thanks to the hospice staff who made the final weeks and particularly final days of his life as comfortable as possible. We also greatly appreciate all who sent their best wishes and kept him in their prayers over the past several months. It brings us great comfort to remember him doing the things he loved, hiking and collecting petrified wood and walking sticks, participating in arts and crafts shows, and dabbling in such esoteric hobbies and collecting boxer's nicknames and humorous quotations from the TV news. A Memorial Service will be held in early December; the specific date has not yet been set, and family will retain the ashes for later disposition.
