SCHAEFER -- R.J. Schaefer, age 68, died Thursday November 17, 2005 in Albuquerque, NM. The RJ legend continues: Family and friends mourn the death of their loving husband, father, brother and friend. R.J. was born in New York City on December 26, 1936. He served his country in the U.S. Military from the age of 17 and was honorably discharged in 1961. R.J. Schaefer was a long time resident of New Mexico, starting his family and career in Roswell. He moved to Albuquerque approximately thirty-five years ago and prospered as a family man, community leader, and land and real estate developer. R.J was preceded in death by his mother Charlotte Schaefer and his father August Schaefer. R.J. is survived by his wife, Olga; his children, Joyce, Jerome, Chris (Heather), Tish (Donnie), Jessica (Ronnie), Mike (Kim), Matt (Heather), and Larissa; and his grandchildren, Justin, Adam, Savannah, Skylar, Hayden, Owen, Nicholas, Seth, Bryan, and Michaela. He is also survived by his brother, William Schaefer (Lillian) of Evergreen, Colorado; and numerous nieces and nephews. R.J. was active in his church and devoted to his Christian beliefs and helping those less fortunate. R.J. was a leader in the community, always giving to others and willing to lend a helping hand. His actions instilled family values and morals in his children and touched those around him. His children will forever carry on his legacy. Visitation will be held Monday, November 21, 2005 from 4:00 p.m. till 8:00 p.m. at the Wyoming Chapel of French Mortuary.
