LA RIVA -- Fernando La Riva, age 76, of Rio Rancho, went to be with his Lord Friday, November 18 at his home. Mr. La Riva was born and raised in Roswell. After high school, he enlisted in the Air Force and retired after 20 years of service. He then worked for GTE in Lompoc, CA, where he also retired. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie, his parents, and brother, Antonio. Fernando is survived by two daughters; Patricia La Riva and husband, Angel Pineda, Paula Strosnider and husband, Jeff; sons, Michael and wife, Lori, Christopher and wife, Linda, Richard and wife, Leann, and Thomas; brothers, Jose and wife, Connie, Roman and wife, Irene, Augustine and wife, Lorraine, Raul and wife, Carmen, and Felix; sisters, Vivian McClintock, Theresa Delgado and husband, Henry, and Anastasia La Riva; grandchildren, Fidel and wife, Jennifer, Sonja, Heather, Christopher and wife, Toni Marie, Gregory, David, Kristin, Anthony, Aaron, Nicholas, and Stephanie; great-grandchildren, Fernando, Haleigh, Kelly, Teneal, Stormy, Christopher II, and Chelsea; and numerous nieces and nephews; and other close family members. A Rosary will be recited Monday, November 21, 2005 at 7:00 pm at French Mortuary-Westside Chapel, 9300 Golf Course Rd NW. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Tuesday, November 22 at 11:00 am at John XXIII Catholic Community, 4831 Tramway Ridge NE. Interment will be at 2:30 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM. Friends may visit French Mortuary-Westside Chapel, Monday, November 21 from 5:00 pm until the time of the Rosary.
