MCDANIEL -- E. Charles (Charlie) McDaniel, 76, passed away on Monday, November 7, 2005, at his home in Albuquerque, surrounded by his family. He will be greatly missed by everyone who knew and loved him. He was a kind and patient person, loving the outdoors, hunting, lake and stream fishing, gardening, and waterskiing. He also enjoyed playing cards with close friends. Charlie is survived by his wife, Joyce, of 54 years; his son, Charles; his daughter, Elizabeth Briganti and husband, Craig; and grandchildren, Courtney and Brandon. He is also survived by his brother, Michael; special friends and neighbors. Soon after getting married, he was drafted and served in the U.S. Army in the Medical Supply Division, receiving commendations for his efforts and suggestions. After his honorable discharge, he started a small business, Duke City Hobbies, owning it for almost forty years, eventually becoming one of the largest hobby shops in the southwest, until his retirement in 1991. A Memorial Service and celebration of his life will be held at 4:00 p.m., Thursday, November 17, 2005, at his home.
