HAND -- William (Bill) Hand III, went home to be with the Lord after a courageous battle with cancer. Born 9-11-37 in Raton, New Mexico, he then came to Albuquerque. He attended Albuquerque High School and Valley High School where he graduated in 1956. He was active in the National Guard. He was employed with the City of Albuquerque for 27 years as Electrical Supervisor for the water department retiring in 1994. He and his wife enjoyed traveling and were Charter Members of the Excel Club of New Mexico. One of his favorite trips was a cruise to Alaska. He has touched many lives in his journey, earning names of "precious, teddy bear, and sweetie" and will leave a void in their hearts. He will be remembered for his kindness and love of life. Survivors include his wife Jackie of the family home, four sons, four stepchildren, a brother and sister, and many grandchildren and nieces. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Cancer Association. Services will be held Tuesday, November 8, 2005 at 11:00 a.m. at French Mortuary 7121 Wyoming NE. Interment to follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Michael Lee Hand, William Hand IV, Jimmy Hand, Mike Hand, Guy Hollenbeck, Robert Grove, and Ernie Jahn.
