STURGESS -- William Krieger Sturgess, 81, a resident of Albuquerque since 1976, died at his home on Thursday, October 27, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Beverly Sturgess of Albuquerque; sons, Chris and wife, Stacy Scott-Sturgess of Albuquerque, Tim and wife, Michelle Sturgess of Amarillo, TX; grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan, Jeremy, Caty, Emily and Lucas Sturgess; and brother, Henley Sturgess of Atlanta, GA. Mr. Sturgess was a retired Minister of the Christian Church (Disciples of Christ), and served churches in Georgia, Kentucky, Missouri, Illinois, and New Mexico. He served as a paratrooper with 101st Airborne Division in WWII. Mr. Sturgess graduated from the University of Georgia, Lexington Theological Seminary and also the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. He was a member of the Phi Beta Kappa and Phi Kappa Phi, Golden Key Fraternities. Mr. Sturgess enjoyed musical theater and had season tickets to the Musical Theater Southwest. Cremation has taken place and Memorial Services will be held Sunday, 3:00 p.m., at Los Altos Christian Church, 11900 Haines NE. A reception will follow services at Los Altos Christian Church in the north building. Private Ennichement of cremains will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date.
