MARTINEZ -- Octavio Martinez, 77, a resident of Albuquerque, died Sunday, October 16, 2005. He was born Tuesday, September 25, 1928 in Houston, TX to Octavio and Cruz Morales Martinez. He is survived by his mother, Cruz; his children, Teresa, Michael, David Lee, Jacqueline, Jerrilene; and his grandchildren, Justin, David Michael, and Matthew. Octavio was preceded by his father, Octavio; his brother, Rudy; and his sister, Alma. He graduated from UCLA in 1956 with a BS in Engineering. Through the course of his career he was a successful engineer and executive becoming a CEO of several high tech manufacturing corporations. He was a loving father of five children. Octavio enjoyed cooking and politics. He lived life fully, with a sense of pragmatism, humor, and kindness. Octavio retired to Albuquerque in 1999. Rosary will be recited Thursday, October 20, 2005, 7:00 p.m. Memorial Service will be held Friday, October 21, 2005, 10 a.m., at Forest Park-Lawndale Funeral Home, Houston, TX. A Celebration of Life will be held Sunday, October 23, 2005, 3:00 p.m. at Octavio's home in Albuquerque, NM.
