MOYA -- Emilia Aragon de Torres Moya, a life-long resident of Tome, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, October 6, 2005. Emilia passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family. She was born on December 13, 1911, the eldest of three daughters, to the late Frank Aragon and Estella Torres of Tome. Emilia was a life-long member of the Tome Catholic Church, where she was active in the Altar Society and the People's Eucharistic League. She was preceded in death by her mother in 1920; her father in 1960; her husband, Antonio L. Moya in 1952; her grandson, Anthony Peralta in 1990; her sisters, Elena Chavez in 1977, and Cleotilda (Tillie) Baca in 1969. After being widowed at the age of thirty-nine, Emilia devoted her life to her religion and her children. She is survived by all of her children, Stella DeBaca and husband, Dan, Bertha Barreras and husband, Jerome, Lucy Peralta, Amarante Moya and wife, Margaret, Connie Baca and husband, Lorenzo, Tony Moya, and Bert Moya; her aunt, Carmelita Moya; 18 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren; and eight great-great-grandchildren. The family wishes to acknowledge Crucita Griego, Mrs. Moya's companion and caregiver during the last years of her life. A viewing will be held at Romero Funeral Home Chapel on Friday, October 7, from 5:30 to 6:00 p.m. followed by a Rosary recited at 6:00 p.m. A visitation will take place on Saturday, October 8 at 8:30 a.m. followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Tome. Music will be provided by her three granddaughters, known as the Eyeliners. Interment will be held at Tome Catholic Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her god-children, Diana DeBaca, Johnny Peralta, Lawrence Barreras, Brian Moya, Lisa Baca-O'Hara, Joey Baca, and Norman Baca, Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St. Belen.
