LOPEZ -- LALA G. Mrs. Lala (Adelaida) G. Lopez, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away peacefully at home with her family at her side on October 4, 2005. Mrs. Lopez was the daughter of Margarito Griego and Epifania Sanchez Griego. Mrs. Lopez is survived by her sons, Joseph (Sonny) Lopez and wife, Cecilia, Rudy Lee Lopez; two daughters, Priscilla Gutierrez and husband, Danny, Mary Salazar and husband, Manuel; 16 grandchildren; 31 great children; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mrs. Lopez was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Genovevo in 1997; a daughter, Licha in 1939; and a son, Epimenio (Epie) M. Lopez in 1992. Mrs. Lopez was a member of the Catholic Church. In January 1995 in celebration of Lala and Genovevo's 60th anniversary, the county officially dedicated the cross street where the Lopez's lived their entire marriage, Lala-Gene Lane. Lala was a homemaker who loved crocheting blankets and doll dresses and deeply loved her family which was evident as she helped raise many of her grandchildren. A visitation for Lala will be Thursday afternoon in the Gabaldon Memorial Chapel from 2:30 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. A visitation will be after 6:30 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 p.m. A final visitation will be Friday morning from 9:30 a.m. until 10:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Mass of the Resurrection to be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the San Jose de Armijo Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Epie Lopez Jr., Danny Gutierrez Jr., Dion Gutierrez, Dominic Gutierrez, Mark Lopez and Robert Lopez. Honorary pallbearers will be Danny Gutierrez, Manuel Salazar, Darell Wade, Darren Lopez, Joseph Lopez Jr., Paul Gonzales, Joseph Candelaria, Pat Frias, Matt Montez, Matthew Kent and Jarrod Vallejos.
