ADER -- Edward Callaway Ader, 80, our beloved father, a longtime resident of Albuquerque, passed away on Tuesday, September 27, 2005. Edward was born in Colorado Springs, CO, to Ernest and Oka Mae Ader on Monday, May 4, 1925. He was preceded in death by his loving wife of 45 years, Shirley Jean Herrick Ader; his parents; and three sisters, Margaret Vallery, Thelma Anderson, and Ruth Colvin. Edward served in the Navy during WWII, on a Submarine Tender, the Holland, in the South Pacific and was involved with Submarine Veterans of New Mexico. He and his wife, Shirley, took great joy in raising their seven children and watching their family grow to 50 over the years. Edward had been a longtime banker, and after retirement, he and Shirley traveled and were always involved with their children's and grandchildren's sports and interests. Edward was also a talented woodcarver and taught many woodcarving classes at Senior Citizens Centers, and a member of the Rio Grande Woodcarvers Club. He was a longtime member of Ridgecrest Christian Church and was actively involved. Family and friends always remember him for his kindness to all and his wonderful sense of humor. He had lifelong friends through banking, church, scouting, woodcarving, submarine veterans, and senior citizens. But his greatest joy was having his family around him. He is survived by one sister, Phyllis Brown of Denver, CO; one niece, Ann Neff; sister-in-law, Billie Hale of Albuquerque; daughter, Juanita Nellos and husband, Ernie; son, Cal and wife, Nancy, of Centennial, CO; son, Les and wife, Jerre of San Angelo, TX; daughter, Lanoma Beatty and husband, Fred of Amarillo, TX; son, Ben and wife, Betty of Albuquerque, NM; daughter, Susan Barnhart and husband, Mike of Parker, CO; daughter, Betsy Montoya and husband, Ted of Albuquerque; 18 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
