The mother of Anabella Stout DeLoach and wife of Mark Benson DeLoach, Dana grew up in Albuquerque. After receiving her bachelor's degree from Arizona State University, and her master's degree from the University of North Texas, she worked at both the Dallas Museum of Art and the Wadsworth Atheneum in Hartford in their education programs. Committed to education and the arts, she worked in a variety of settings in order to help make art accessible and meaningful to individuals from all age groups. In addition to her husband and daughter, she is survived by her mother, Gayle Bator and stepfather, Dan Bator (of Albuquerque); and her father, Richard Engstrom and stepmother, Pam Engstrom (of Los Lunas, NM). Dana is also survived by many aunts, uncles, cousins, relatives, and friends from around the country. A memorial celebration was held in Hartford, CT and another celebration will be held on Friday, September 16, 2005 from 4:00-7:00 p.m. at the Prairie Star Restaurant on the Santa Ana Pueblo north of Albuquerque. In lieu of flowers, a memorial account is being established at the Wadsworth Atheneum to support art education, and details can be requested from the museum.
