CARMIGNANI -- Susan Elaine Carmignani, age 59 passed peacefully on Saturday, September 10, 2005 at Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital - Hospice Unit after battling with breast cancer for 121/2 years. She grew up in Pierce City, MO and earned a Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy from University of Missouri, Kansas City in 1967. She then worked as a pharmacist in Albuquerque, NM, Tallahassee, FL, Spruce Pine, NC, and Santa Fe, NM. She concluded her 35-year career in the city where she started: Albuquerque, NM. In 1994 she earned a Master of Science degree in Nutrition from the University of New Mexico. Susan was a breast cancer survivor facilitator for many years following her initial remission. Due to her desire to find a cure and her abilities as an accomplished scholar, she was a consumer reviewer for the Department of Defense Breast Cancer Research Program for several years as well. This alone speaks volumes of her character and her regard for the welfare of those around her. She was a loving and devoted wife of George Carmignani, who still resides in Albuquerque, NM. She is also survived by son, Craig Keith Carmignani, married to Tina, daughter, Suzanne Elise Ortiz, married to Michael, and son, Jon Patrick Carmignani. She has three granddaughters, Celeste Marie Carmignani, AnaLisa Miquela Ortiz, and Elena Clorinda Ortiz. She was preceded in passing by her father, Keith H. Stotts, who lived in Pierce City, MO. Her mother, Helen Stotts, currently resides in Springfield, MO. Her brother, Bill and his wife Pat Stotts also reside in Springfield, MO. Their daughter Jerri-Ann Stotts and her partner Ron Travis live in Linn Valley, KS. Susan's ashes will be present at the memorial services, to be held on Tuesday September 13 at 10:30 a.m. at the Chapel of the Sunrise, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. N.E. Albuquerque, NM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Presbyterian Kaseman Hospital - Hospice Unit, 8300 Constitution Ave. N.E. 87110. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her because of her caring, loving, and nurturing disposition. We love you...
