LEWIS -- Evelyn Lewis, age 86, a resident of Albuquerque since 1947, left this world Tuesday, August 23, 2005 to be with her Maker. She passed away peacefully, at home with her family at her side. She loved music and was an accomplished pianist. Evelyn many times played piano for the senior centers and the Hospitality House. She also got great pleasure from playing bridge and pinochle. She and her family owned several different businesses throughout the years. Her generosity and good-heartedness will be greatly missed. She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Floyd; daughters, Jean Conner and husband, Roy, Grace Lewis, Linda Olson and husband, Craig "Oly", Debbie Knauber and husband, Lee; sons, Michael Lewis, David Lewis and wife, Kay Schumacher, Stephen Lewis and wife, Megan, M.D.; eight grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren; brothers, Vincent Newman and wife, Betty, Edward Newman and wife, Dottie; sister, Elsie Screnock. She was preceded in death by her parents; Francis and Catherine Newman and sister, Mary Newman. Services will be held at French Mortuary, Lomas Chapel on Saturday, August 27, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Friends may visit French Mortuary one hour prior to service.
