KERNS -- Billy Glenn Kerns, 80, a lifetime resident of Albuquerque died Wednesday, August 10, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Reba; daughters, Malinda Vallani and husband, Rocco of Colorado Springs, CO, Glennette DuTertre of Sanford, FL, Peggy DeShon of Sanford, FL; sons, William E. Kerns and wife, Rosa of Costa Rica, Steve L. Gammon and wife, Kim of Albuquerque, and Matthew A. Kerns of Albuquerque; 16 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Leta Whitehead of Albuquerque and many other relatives and friends. Billy was born on March 3, 1925 in St. Joseph, Missouri to Harry and Alberta DeShon Kerns. He served in the United States Army during WWII receiving four Bronze Stars, the Good Conduct Medal and the Purple Heart. Billy was a devoted husband, loving father and grandfather and will be deeply missed by all who knew him. Graveside Services will be held Monday, August 15, 2005, 9:30 a.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery, Santa Fe, NM with Trey Hammond officiating. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd. NE, Sunday, August 14, 2005 from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
