SKOLNICK -- Saul Skolnick, 83, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away after a long battle with cancer. He was born November 10, 1921 in Manhattan, NY. He came to New Mexico in 1948 and worked for many years at Los Alamos, retiring from Sandia Labs in 1986. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Anna; a son, Russell; and a brother, Jack. He is survived by his wife, Carrie; a son, Julian and companion, Irma; step children, Steve Edwards and wife, Heidi, Timothy Edwards, and Barbara Edwards; four step-grandchildren, Jack, Kendra, Ashley, and Gabriel Edwards; two step-great-grandchildren, Dakota and Kylie. Also surviving, sister, Lillie and brother-in-law, Murray Beltzer of Flushing, NY; sister-in-law, Hortense Skolnick of New York; and cousin, Thelma Elkins of Kensington, CA. Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 11, 2005 at French Mortuary, 10500 Lomas Blvd NE. Interment will follow at Fairview Memorial Park. Friends may visit French Mortuary on Wednesday, August 10, 2005 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions should be made to the UNM Cancer Research Center, 900 Camino de Salud NE, Albuquerque, 87131.
