MERCER -- Harold "Hal" J. Mercer, a resident of Albuquerque since 1950, died Friday, July 29, 2005. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Donna Mercer; sons, Harold A. Mercer and wife, Donna, John R. Mercer and fiance, Ruthie and Jerry E. Mercer; daughter, Janice Beyer and husband, Mike; grandchildren, Jonathan and Michael Parker, Jake and Sarah Mercer, Rhiannon and Travis Mercer, and Aaron Singdahlsen; great-grandchildren, John Adam Parker, Dante Tow, and Keoni Singdahlsen; brother, Allen Mercer and wife, Helen; sister, Dorothy Eddleman; and many other loving family members and friends. Hal was born in Prescott, AZ on December 21, 1928. He grew up and graduated in Prescott. He attended UNM and graduated with a Masters Degree 1957. Hal was a teacher and principal with APS for 34 years, teaching at Sandia Base. He was a principal at Wherry, Zia and Marie Hughes. Hal was an avid golfer and fisherman. He was an associate member of St. John's United Methodist Church. Hal was a loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather. He will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him. Memorial Services will be held Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. at St. John's United Methodist Church, 2626 Arizona NE.
