CORDOVA -- Elvira Trujillo Cordova passed away on Wednesday, July 13, 2005 at her home, after a year long battle with cancer. She was born on August 27, 1911 in Watrous, NM to Gabriel and Emilia Trujillo. She spent her childhood in Watrous and Dawson, NM. In 1928, she married Margarito Cordova in Dawson, where Margarito worked in the coal mines. The family moved to Albuquerque in 1944 and settled in the North Valley. Elvira was very involved in Our Lady of Guadalupe Parish Community, she was employed in the office and later volunteered for many years. She was preceded in death by her husband, Margarito; children, Antonio, Susan, Charlie and Gil; her parents; six brothers: and two sisters. Elvira is survived by her sons, Margarito (Richard) and wife, Stella, Manuel (Ted), Vivian and wife, Anna, and Michael; daughters, Celeste Medina and husband, Dave, Bernadette Cordova-Silva, Lorraine Cordova-Carriaga and husband, Adan; 27 grandchildren; 57 great-grandchildren; four great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Ignacita Casias; and numerous nephews and nieces. Rosary will be recited on Friday, 8:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church, 1860 Griegos NW. Mass will be celebrated by Father Luis Jaramillo on Saturday, 10:00 a.m. at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery.
