OSBORN -- Garth Osborn, 89 years old and a resident of Albuquerque, NM, joined our Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 26, 2005. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma; two brothers; and three sisters. He is survived by his wife, Isabel; brother, Ross Osborn; and sisters, Alyne Hamilton and Margie Hedges. Garth was born in Mt. Calm, Texas in 1915. He reported for active duty with the United States Army, where he served in battle in Africa, Italy, and Germany. He received many honors. Garth spent his life on the cattle trail in Texas and New Mexico. He often shared cowboy stories about the long trail ride moving cattle to the railhead. He enjoyed playing many cowboy songs on his harmonica. Garth got his FCC Licenses when television first began and worked in Shreveport, LA. He and his wife then moved to Albuquerque, where he worked for KOAT TV for many years. Garth spent several years in the Chama area guiding hunters. Garth and Isabel spent much of their time traveling around the United States in their RV. They also enjoyed seeing the world from cruise ships. Garth was a member of the First Baptist Church in Moriarty, where he enjoyed making sure that the young people had the opportunity to learn about Jesus as well as the resources to go on mission trips and share Jesus. Garth will be deeply missed by all who knew him. A Memorial Service will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at the First Baptist Church in Moriarty, New Mexico.
