HOOGEBOOM -- Wybe, born Wijbe Hoogeboom May 25, 1940 in Birdaard, Netherlands to Froukje and Willam Hoogeboom (who predeceased him) died June 17, 2005 from complications from a stroke suffered April 5, 2003. A gentle, much loved man who will be greatly missed. Emigrated with his family to the U.S. in 1952, always hardworking: a contractor, master carpenter, Wybe spent most of his working life in construction with his brothers and father in Colorado building custom homes; also had his own company "Custom Homes by Wybe;" and the last 12 years spent in Albuquerque building additions and remodeling homes in partnership with his wife Peggy. Survived by his loving, devoted wife of 21 years, "Peggy" Margaret Hoogeboom; daughters, Michelle Hoogeboom Blaine (husband Patrick) of Vancouver, Washington; Sandra Hoogeboom Brown (husband Jeffrey) their daughters, Ryanne Brown of Oregon, and Devon Brown of Albuquerque. Also survived by four children from a previous marriage, Terry Steven Hoogeboom (wife Delana) their daughters, Kelsey and Kylie Hoogeboom; Lee Karl Hoogeboom, all of California; Kristie Flowers (husband Darren) their son, Dennis Flowers of Iowa; and Lonnie Darren Hoogeboom (wife Betsy) of Houston, Texas. He leaves brothers, Floyd Hoogeboom (wife Catherine); Luke Hoogeboom (wife Margo), of Colorado; sisters, Grietje "Margie" Curtis (husband Doug) of Oregon; Marian Nall of Colorado; many nieces and nephews, and very much loved aunts, uncles, and cousins in the Netherlands, and in Canada, and many dear friends. The family thanks doctors, nurses, techs, and therapists at Presbyterian and Health South, and most especially Dr. Hankinson for saving his life, Dr. Erikson's wonderful care, Dr. Tuckler's expert and compassionate care this last year, and caring hospice volunteers, Donna and Caren Ann, as well as nurse Barbara, heath aide Irene, and home aide Virginia, for making the last months easier.
