CALDWELL -- John B. Caldwell, 81, began a new journey on Friday, June 17, 2005, after an extended illness. He was born January 7, 1924 in Putnam, Oklahoma. John served in the United States Navy during World War II. He was a soil conservationist for the Bureau of Indian Affairs in Oklahoma and New Mexico prior to his retirement. John was devoted to his family and is survived by his wife of 61 years, Helen; daughters, Patricia Caldwell of Albuquerque and Kathy Magee and husband, Ed of Grapevine, TX; his grandchildren, Monica Allen and husband, Mark of Round Rock, TX, Kevin Magee of Denton, TX; and his great-grandson, John Allen; his brothers, Col. James K. Caldwell (USA) Ret. and wife, Geraldine of Falcon, MO and Dr. Delmar Caldwell and JoAnn of New Orleans, LA; numerous nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends. Graveside services will be held at Santa Fe National Cemetery, 501 N. Guadalupe St., Santa Fe, NM on Wednesday, June 22, 2005, 10:30 a.m. A procession will leave the French Mortuary, Lomas Blvd. Chapel at 8:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans Dept. of NM, P.O.
