RAMIREZ -- Benny "Benado" Ramirez, 61, passed away unexpectedly, Saturday, June 4, 2005. He was born Friday, May 5, 1944 in Albuquerque the son of Rafael and Manuela Ramirez. He was a former heavy equipment operator for the city of Albuquerque for over 21 years. Benny enjoyed boating, spending time with his family and the camaraderie of his friends. He is survived by his sister, Maria Elena Candelaria and husband, Santiago, of Albuquerque; brothers, Felipe Ramirez and wife, Ernie, of Albuquerque, Camilo Ramirez and wife, Rose, of California, Juan Ramirez, Ray Ramirez and wife, Ramona, Ralph Ramirez and wife, Rose, and Michael Ramirez, all of Albuquerque; godchild, Richard Ortega; many nieces, nephews; and many close and dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Jennie Ortega in March 1997. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 10:00 a.m., at San Jose Parish, 2401 Broadway SE. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Richard Ortega, Raymond Ortega, Julian Delgado, Alfredo Munoz, Dominic Ramirez, and Mike Ramirez, Jr. Honorary pallbearers will be Benny's nieces and nephews.
