TORRES -- Joe Torres, 87 loving husband, for 58 years of Martha passed away at a local hospital on May 11, 2005. Besides his wife Joe is survived by his daughter, Martie Sanchez; grandchildren, Laraisa Sanchez, Desiree Sanchez, and Jude Joseph Sanchez; sisters, Emma Basila, Mary Torres, Lillie Sarracino and preceded in death by Rita Smith; he is also survived by his brothers, Tony Torres, Emilo Torres, Gilbert Torres, and Charlie Torres; and numerous nieces and nephews. Joe's family would like to remember him as a devoted and loving husband, he lived everyday for his family. "Ta Ta" was adored by his daughter and grandchildren. Joe retired from Albuquerque Publishing Company, he was an avid scratch golfer, he loved the Big Band music. A Rosary will be recited on Friday, May 13, 2005 at 7:00 p.m. at Palm, Chapel Strong-Thorne Mortuary. Funeral Mass will be held on Saturday, May 14, 2005; at 12:30 p.m. at Holy Ghost Catholic Church, 833 Arizona SE. Burial will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Joe's family is requesting that donations be made to St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, Tennessee 38105; in lieu of flowers.
