SANCHEZ -- Levi J. Sr. Mr. Levi J. Sanchez Sr., 61, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on May 1, 2005 following a long and courageous battle with diabetes. Levi is the beloved husband to Mrs. Cathy Sanchez, married for 35 years. Levi is also survived by his two sons, Levi Jr. and Brian; his mother, Eppie Quintana; five brothers, Frank Sanchez and wife, Cruzita, Ernest Sanchez and wife, Josephine, Fred Sanchez and wife, Leonor, Randy (Albert) Sanchez and wife, Blanca, Eddie Sanchez and wife, Cathy; sister in law, Dorothy Sanchez; mother in law, Andrea Gilliam; step-mother, Sara Sanchez; very dear friends, Jerry and Josie Gonzales of Wildomar, CA; many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, Godchildren, cousins and friends. Levi was preceded in death by his father, Johnnie Sanchez; a brother, Steven Sanchez; father in law, George Gilliam; and a sister in law, Vangie Gilliam Romero. Levi was retired from the Albuquerque Police Department after 25 years of service. A visitation will be Thursday morning from 10:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at St. Therese Catholic Church, 300 Mildred NW with a Memorial Mass to be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. by Father Ron Carrillo. Interment of Levi's cremains will follow at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations and contributions to the American Diabetes Association.
