GARCIA -- Adrian Garcia passed away at his home on Guadalupe Trail, Wednesday, March 16, 2005, after a long illness. He has left this life and begun a new one with The Lord our God. Adrian fought proudly and bravely for his country in Germany during WWII, from 1942 to 1947. He served with the Air National Guard and retired after sixteen years. Adrian then retired in 1981, after 35 years of Civil Service at Kirtland Airforce Base. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Sylvia; ten children: sons, Rudy, Joe, Adrian Jr., David, and Peter Garcia; daughters, Cristy Gutierrez, Lucinda Gurule, Gloria Lucero, Sophia Chavez and Thea Martinez; 19 grandchildren; and 15 great-grandchildren. Services will be held at Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church, 4th and Alameda NW., with a viewing beginning at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 20, 2005 followed by the rosary being recited at 4:00 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, March 21, 2005 at 9:00 a.m., with burial following at Santa Fe National Cemetery at 12:30 p.m. Pallbearers are his grandsons, Fabian and Sebastian Gurule, Louie Lucero, Nataniel Chavez, Anthony Garcia, and Christopher Garcia.
