CHAVEZ -- Eugenio. Mr. Eugenio Chavez, 86, a resident of Albuquerque, passed away on February 24, 2005. Mr. Chavez is the beloved husband to Mrs. Melinda C. Chavez, married for 65 years. Mr. Chavez is also survived by his children, Tillie Garcia and husband, Carmen, Theresa M. Tapia and husband, Larry, Frances Cruz and husband, Eddie, Carlos Gene Chavez and wife, June, Angela Sanchez and husband Ross; twelve grandchildren, Theresa Marie, Larry I I, Johanna and husband, Feliciano, Carlos Maurice, Meagan Melinda, Mark Anthony and wife, Melissa, Francisco Abel, Benjamin Allen, Michael Ross and Carlos Eugenio; four great-grandchildren, Maximus, Mc Kenzie, Mark Jr., and Katrina; a sister in law, Andrea Chavez; many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Mr. Chavez was preceded in death by a son, Pablo Abel; sisters, Prudencia Jaramillo and Rosa Moya; a brother, Cresencio Chavez. Mr. Chavez was a member of the Catholic Church, a Veteran of the U.S. Army serving in World War II, a member of the Holy Name Society, St. Vincent de Paul, was an usher at Holy Family Cathodic Church, a minister of the Eucharist, a member of the D. A. V. Chapter #3, an heir to the Atrisco Land Grant, was an owner of the Atrisco Shoe Shop (El Zapatero), and was retired from Civil Service. A visitation for Mr. Chavez will be Sunday afternoon from 3:30 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church, 562 Atrisco SW with a Rosary to be recited at 4:00 p.m. A final visitation will be Monday morning from 8:30 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. at Holy Family Catholic Church with Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 9:00 a.m. Interment will follow at the Santa Clara Cemetery with Military Honors. Pallbearers will be Larry Tapia II, Carlos Cruz, Mark Anthony Sanchez, Francisco Abel Chavez, Benjamin Cruz, Michael Ross Sanchez, Carlos Eugenio Chavez, and Feliciano Jiron.
