BATEMAN -- Maurine Virginia Bateman, age 83, a resident of Rio Communities in Belen, NM, peacefully joined Our Lord and Savior on Tuesday, January 20, 2005 in an Albuquerque Hospital. Maurine was a very active member of the First Presbyterian Church of Belen. Maurine is survived by her loving husband of 60 years, John of the family home in Rio Communities; two loving and devoted daughters, Pat and her husband, Gabe Sciumbato of Leland, MS, and Vicki and her husband, Michael Crutchfield of Albuquerque, NM; one grandson, Anthony Sciumbato; and one great-granddaughter, Peyton Sciumbato Jones; two sisters, Margaret and her husband, Ted Tedesco of Albuquerque, NM and Dorthia and her husband, Bill Leck of Canon City, CO; she is also survived by her many loving nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be held at First Presbyterian of Belen on Monday, January 24, 2005beginning with a visitation from 9:30 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. With the utmost respect for her wishes, cremation has take place. Interment will take place at Santa Fe National Cemetery at a later date. Romero Funeral Home, 609 N. Main St., Belen.
