ORTEGA -- Gilbert Felix Ortega (51), passed away on December 31, 2004. He was born in Las Vegas, New Mexico on November 8, 1953 to Alejandro and Carolina Ortega. Gilbert was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Anna Mae. Gilbert is survived by his wife, Virginia, who loved him dearly. He is also survived by his mother, Carolina Ortega. Also surviving are Gilbert's brothers: Alex (Rosemary), Steve, Jimmy (Diane) and Ben. Surviving sisters are: Perlinda Gonzales (Marvin), Angela Ortega (Louie Benavidez), Donna, Dolores and Pablita Tapia (Joe). Gilbert is also survived by many relatives and friends who will miss him dearly. Gilbert was a man of conviction, who believed in justice and fairness for all. He also had a wonderful personality. Gilbert could walk into a room full of strangers and leave having made new friends. He will be greatly missed by his wife, Virginia, his dear family and friends. Gilbert will always have a special place in our hearts. In his memory, please remember to show compassion and kindness to the people you meet in your life. Gilbert is now with our Lord and together with him will watch over us. Virginia and the Ortega family thank all of you for the support and love you have given them during this sad time in their lives. God bless you all. A Rosary will be recited for Gilbert On Tuesday, January 4, 2005 at 7:00 p.m., at Salazar and Sons Mortuary. A mass will be recited on Wednesday at Holy Family Church with time to be announced.
