SANCHEZ -- Hilario (Larry) Sanchez, 79, of Albuquerque, died Friday, December 10, 2004. He was born on January 17, 1925. Three daughters, all of Albuquerque, survive him; Victoria Eichenberg, Juanita Sanchez, and Judy Pholotchski as well as a son-in-law, Mike Eichenberg; and grandson, Gary Eichenberg; and many relatives and friends. Captured by the Germans in 1944, he was a proud WWII U.S. Army veteran, POW, and highly decorated soldier. An exceptional mechanic, he had over 20 years of service with Sun Motors. Upon retiring, he relocated to Salt Lake City, Utah. He met and fell in love with Mable Lucero where they lived happily with a Chihuahua dog named "Lupe" (outside of Larry's company, a non-stop barker). Mable preceded Mr. Sanchez in death. After Mable's passing, Larry moved back to Albuquerque, living with his daughter, Victoria. Goodbye father, grandfather, father-in-law and honorable soldier. A Rosary will be recited at 9:30 am on Wednesday, December 15, 2004 at Our Lady of Assumption Catholic Church located at 811 Guaymas Place NE (near Lomas and Pennsylvania). A Mass will immediately follow. Internment at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
