AFFELT -- Gustave Affelt was born in New York City, served in the Army in World War II, and was employed by Deluxe Corporation Bank Printers for 43 years. He attended Rutgers University and Paterson School of Business. He studied voice with Major Augustus Post of Carnegie in New York City. He sang with the Yorkville (Maennerchor) in NYC, the Mt. Lakes Glee Club in New Jersey, and Vos Vaqueros in Las Cruces. With his wife, June, he sang in the Bronxville Choral Society in NY, the Morris Choral Society in New Jersy, and university choruses and Lutheran church choirs. He and June were married in St. Peters, New York and were together for 54 years. He is survived by his daughter, April and husband, Paul, of Nevada; a son, Laurence and wife, Gloria, of New Jersey; a brother, Henry of New York; four grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; and five step-great-grandchildren. He was a member of St. Lukes Lutheran Church on Menaul and was a member of their Senior Club.
