GORDON -- Geraldine H. Gordon, 78, a resident of Albuquerque since 1972, died Monday, November 15, 2004. She was born in Iowa on February 8, 1926. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Gordon in 1998. Geraldine was a member of Messiah Lutheran Church. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary Post 99, where she served as Department President from 1987-1988. She held many chairmanships at both the Unit and Department level, but her favorite was Americanism. She truly believed in what the program teaches young people: "Love God and Country, and pride in being an American." She also served as a member of the Girls State Board and was a member of Salon 293 of 8 and 40. She is survived by two sons, Douglas Gordon and wife, Patty of Burlington, MA and Richard Gordon of Minneapolis, MN; two sisters, Luci Davis of New Hampton, IA and Ellen Stange of Lawler, IA; a brother, Albert Hartmann of New Hampton, IA; and numerous nieces and nephews. A memorial service will be held 11:30 am Thursday, November 18, 2004 in Palm Chapel of Strong-Thorne Mortuary, 1100 Coal Ave SE, with Pastor Tom Anderson officiating. Interment will be in Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM at 2:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Legion Auxiliary Emergency Fund, 1215 Mountain Rd.
