GARD -- O'Dire Gard, age 89, a resident of Jarales, NM, passed away on November 16, 2004. He was a member of Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church. O'Dire was a 1932 graduate of Santa Fe High School. He married the love of his life, Manforita in 1954. They moved to Jarales, NM in 1958 where O'Dire started an orchard. O'Dire proudly served in the Army, in WWII, as an X-Ray Technician from 1942 to 1945. He loved hunting, fishing, and working in his orchard. O'Dire is preceded in death by his wife, Manforita; and his parents, Gershom and Nellie Gard. He is survived by his sister, Vashti Wingo of Moriarty, NM; several nieces and nephews; and many loving friends. All services will take place on Thursday, November 18, 2004 at Our Lady of Belen Catholic Church beginning with a viewing, at 11:00 a.m., A Rosary will be recited at 11:30 a.m. and the funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. Interment will take place on Thursday, November 18, 2004, at 3:00 p.m. at Santa Fe National Cemetery.
