GARCIA -- Valerio Garcia, 81, went home peacefully with our Lord, Thursday, November 11, 2004. He was born in San Jose, NM., and was a longtime resident of Albuquerque. Valerio served in the US Navy during WWII, and retired from the Albuquerque Public Schools in 1985. He is survived by his six children, Bernie Griego and wife Jo, Ted Garcia and wife Loretta, Jose C. Garcia and wife Corrine, Teresa Whiting, Dorothy Jeter, Carmen Griego and husband Celestino; 19 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren, including a special granddaughter, Carmen Trujillo; sister, Frances Munoz and husband Dan of Marysville, CA. He will be greatly missed by all, including his many nieces, nephews and friends. A Memorial service will be held in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services, on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. Burial will follow at the Santa Fe National Cemetery in Santa Fe, NM., at 2:30p.m. Arrangements by Direct Funeral Services, 2919 4th ST.
