KAVANAUGH -- Mary Catherine went home to the Lord on November 8, 2004. She was born May 6, 1909 in Cleveland, Ohio to Helen Dominick and Walter Kavanaugh. She moved to Albuquerque with her family in October 1920. Mary attended St. Vincent's Academy and Western Secretarial School. She had been a member of Immaculate Conception Church since 1920. She served the Church in many capacities, most notably in the Ladies' League. Mary worked her entire life. Her professional career began at Los Alamos Labs during WWII, then the Tribune, Red Cross, and finally, at the Veterans Administration in the office of the Chief Attorney. She retired from the V.A. in 1972 after 26 years of service. Mary is preceded in death by her parents; sister, Genevieve Veroche; and brothers, Walter and Robert Kavanaugh. She is survived by her sister, Pat and husband Bob Howell; brother-in-law, Nicholas Veroche; sister-in-law, Marily Kavanaugh; her nieces, Kathy, Peggy, Pattie, Ann, Suzie, and Kerrie; and nephews, Chris, Robert, Mark, and Kent; and many great-nieces and -nephews. The family requests donations be made to the Maryknoll Missions. Visitations will be held on Thursday at Salazar & Sons Mortuary from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. also at Salazar & Sons Mortuary. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, November 12, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church followed by interment services at Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mike Grady, Neil Grady, Robert Howell, Mark Howell, Kent Kavanaugh, and Chris Papaleo. Arrangements by: -Salazar & Sons Mortuary 400 Third St. SW 247-4124
