HERBST -- Norman A. Herbst, Sr. died Thursday, October 28, 2004 at his home. He was born July 8, 1913 in York Co., Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Geraldine; his son Norman, Jr. and wife Mary of El Paso, Texas; daughter Norma J. Swanson, Albuquerque; grandson Daniel Herbst and wife Traci, Los Lunas, New Mexico; granddaughter Stephanie Schulte and husband Mike, El Paso, Texas; and granddaughter Melissa Kohrs and husband Louis, Albuquerque, five great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild. Norman retired from Sandia Labs in 1978. He was a charter member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church. Cremation has taken place and a private graveside service will be held at a later date.
