HUME -- H. Richard Hume, 71, a resident of Albuquerque since 1994, died Wednesday, October 13, 2004 after a brief battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Mary Hume; son, James Hume and wife, Lynn, all of Albuquerque; daughters, Marcia Skurka and husband, Bob, of Lowell, IN; Amie Hume of Albuquerque; and granddaughter, M'elen Skurka of Lowell, IN. Mr. Hume resided in El Paso from 1982 to 1994 and prior to that was a resident of Indianapolis, IN. A veteran of the US Air Force in the Korean War, he served as a bombardier and had attained the rank of Staff Sgt. He was a Professional Engineer who owned and operated his own consulting firm, H.R. Hume and Associates, in Albuquerque, for the past 12 years. Mr. Hume was a great and private man, always maintaining great sense of dignity, professionalism, and integrity. Being totally selfless, he always put others before himself. He loved and adored his wife, Mary, and devoted himself to her happiness, comfort and well-being. He greatly loved his children and his granddaughter who will sorely miss him. He will also be missed by his cat, Geraldine and his dog, Teddy. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 16, 2004, 1:30 pm, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church with Fr. Edmundo Rodriguez, Celebrant.
