PUCKETT -- John Milton, age 73, died Sunday, October 3, 2004. He was born October 27, 1930 in Rogers, AR, grew up in rural NM, graduated from Deming High School, and spent most of his adult years in Albuquerque. A graduate of University of New Mexico, he was a civil engineer with the NM State Highway Dept. and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. He is survived by his wife Joanne; son Timothy John Puckett and daughter-in-law Julie Puckett of Traverse City, MI; daughter Theresa Jean Puckett of San Francisco, CA; and granddaughters Megan Eve and Abigail Elyse Puckett of Traverse City, MI. He was a member of ASCE, NSPE, Chi Epsilon, NARFE, First Presbyterian Church, and bowled for many years in the YMCA Church League. In retirement he volunteered at the Menaul Historical Library and enjoyed genealogy, reading, stamp-collecting, and travel. He was a 50 year UNM alumnus and a loyal Lobo fan. He loved New Mexico, Ghost Ranch, and the Jemez Mountains. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust NE, 87102; Ghost Ranch Abiquiu, HC77, Box 11, Abiquiu, NM, 87510; or Menaul Historical Library, 301 Menaul Blvd. NE, 87107 for memorial contributions. A memorial service will be held Tuesday, October 12, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust NE. Private interment will take place at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE.
