DOUGHERTY -- Christine Hunker Dougherty passed away on Monday, September 20, 2004 at the age of 53 years. She is survived by her husband, Frank M. Dougherty, stepson Tate Dougherty, and three sisters Mary Helen Follingstad, companion of Michael Madden, Marion Reynolds, married to Thomas Seamans and Caroll A. Follingstad, married to Richard H Follingstad. She is also survived by her stepmother Lori Hunker, her nieces and nephew, Stephanie K. Reynolds, Deborah C. Follingstad, Eric R. Follingstad, and Gretel R. Follingstad, and many dear friends. She is predeceased by her parents, William W. Hunker and June B. Hunker. Born in Santa Fe on June 7, 1951, Christine was a wonderful skier, master gardener, gourmet chef, voracious reader, lively conversationalist, loyal friend and confidant, and adept amateur pysanky craftswoman. She had a gentle keen wit and was an agile wordmaster, which was nowhere more evident than when she played Scrabble or completed the Times Sunday crossword puzzle. She shared with her father a great love of fly-fishing, which eventually led her to becoming an active and esteemed officer of New Mexico Trout. Christine's family would like thank Wesa Ramsey, Allegra Hanson, Patsy Boverie, Karen Taylor, Rosie Davis, Maria Gonzales, the LBP, Lovelace Hospice, Dr. Natalie Marshal, and the medical staff at New Mexico Oncology Consultants for their love, care, and support, which have been invaluable during the last two years. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to New Mexico Trout, P.O. Box 3276, Albuquerque, NM 87190-3276 or to the Friends of Bosque del Apache, P. O. Box 340, San Antonio, New Mexico 87832 for conservation activities. A celebration of Christine's vibrant life will be held in mid-October and invitations will be mailed shortly.
