MARSH -- Dr. Dean E. Marsh, 80, a 40 year resident of Belen, passed away quietly in his sleep in the presence of friends and family on September 15, 2004. A kind-hearted and gentle humored man is survived by Margaret "Peggy" Marsh, his devoted wife of 50 years. Dean is survived by his four children, Brad Marsh and wife Lisa, Gayle Marsh and partner Robyn, Brian Marsh and wife Kelly, Todd Marsh and wife Tonya; and six grandchildren, Curtis, Justin, Derek, Dean, Cory, and Chelsea. He was preceded by death by his brother, Lester Marsh; and sister, Alberta Elder and surviving sisters; Honee Runk and Kay Henneman. A 1952 graduate from Lincoln Chiropractic College, he dedicated his life to the Chiropractic profession for the past 5 decades. His many accomplishments are measured by the people's lives he touched as there is no greater gift a man can give than to compassionately care for others. He truly was the greatest man we knew. He had also served on the NM Board of Chiropractic. Dr. Marsh was a Masonic Past Master and an active member of Bethlehem Lodge #56 A.F. & A.M. He was a member of Jessamine Chapter #45 Order of Eastern Star. "Dad" Marsh dedicated many years of service to Harmony Chapter Order of DeMolay for Boys and Belen Assembly #11 Order of Rainbow for Girls. Dr. Marsh was a member of St. Philip's Episcopal Church. Dean's love for music was evident by his love of playing the piano and organ. He often could be heard playing and dedicating "Peg of My Heart" in honor of his loving wife. A Masonic service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, September 20, 2004 at St. Philip's Episcopal Church, 113 La Luna Place in Belen, and a Rite of Passage Service immediately following at 11:00 a.m. A celebration of Dr. Marsh's life and legacy will follow immediately after the services at the Masonic Lodge at 607 Goebel St. in Belen. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions made to Bethlehem Lodge #56 A.F. & A.M., St. Philips Episcopal Church of Belen.
