ANDREWS -- Jay A. Andrews, 88, passed away on September 13, 2004 at home surrounded by his loving wife and family. Jay was born on January 15, 1916 in Moville, IA to Adam and Zelle (Black) Andrews. The family lived in Foxhome, MN. Jay attended school in Fergus Falls, MN. In 1952, Jay sold his farm in Minnesota and moved his family to Albuquerque for the health of his daughter. Jay is preceded in death by his daughter, Judith Andrews; and son, Richard; four brothers, Bob, Roy, Verl and Don Andrews; and a sister, Clella Spanswick. He is survived by his beloved wife of 27 years, Betty (Pedroncelli) Andrews; two daughters, Mary Andrews and Debbie Kemp; one son, Tom Andrews; two step-daughters, Jean Howard and husband, Joe and Jane Williams and husband, Don; one stepson, Jimmy Pedroncelli, all of Albuquerque; 18 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Jay worked for Sandia Laboratories as a machinist for 25 years and retired in 1978. Jay was recently awarded with the Jewelled Veteran's Badge from the International Association of Machinist and Aerospace Workers for his loyalty and service to fellow workers for 50 years. He was an angel on earth who will be dearly missed by his family and friends and those whose life he touched. Memorial services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 17 at Chapel of Sunrise, 7601 Wyoming Blvd. NE.
