CONNOLLY -- Anne Ashburn Connolly, 80, a resident of Albuquerque for 5 years, passed away on Sunday, August 15, 2004. She was born on April 23, 1924 in Dennison, TX to Martin and Josephine Ashburn. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles H. Connolly; and her brother, Martin Ashburn. She is survived by her loving children, David Connolly and wife, Marjorie of Houston, TX, Carol Connolly and husband, Bruce Cass of Albuquerque, Nial Connolly of Santa Fe; grandchildren, Katharine Connolly and Thomas Connolly of Houston, Daniel Connolly and Crenna Connolly of Colorado, and Alisa Cass of Albuquerque. Anne was a painter, sculptor, and weaver who shared her talents with many friends and family. She graduated from SMU and taught art there before starting her family. In later years she exhibited at various galleries, and her weavings hang in many hospitals and public buildings. She owned Needles and Whims in Plano, TX for several years. After her move to New Mexico, her weavings expressed the beauty she found in her new state. She enjoyed gardening and was an avid reader; her love of books was passed on to all her children. Cremation has taken place and a Memorial Service will be held on Monday, August 23, 2004 at New Life Presbyterian Church, 5540 Eubank Blvd., NE at 7:00 p.m. Interment will be at Grove Hill Memorial Park in Dallas, TX. Anne will be deeply missed.
