CAUGHRAN -- James Virgil Caughran, aged, 84, passed away August 17, 2004. He was born October 25, 1919 to Harry Lonzo and Wannie Belle Caughran in Grady, New Mexico. He married his first grade sweetheart Elsie Faith Bliss, June 29, 1941. They moved to Dove Creek, CO in the mid 1940s where he farmed and ran an LP Gas business. He and his family moved to Albuquerque in the mid 1950s and lived here for over 45 years. He was a successful real estate businessman and was the prime developer of Elephant Butte Estates. He loved to spend time with his family at his home on Mount Taylor. Virgil was an avid nature lover, conservationist and enjoyed raising livestock. Virgil was preceded in death by his wife; his son; his parents; his brother; and his sister. He is survived by his niece, Barbara Woodward and her husband, Bob of Albuquerque; and his nephew, Dr. Leroy Coffman and his wife, Carol of Winter Haven, FL; and many, many close friends. Virgil was a loving, caring, husband, father, and mentor to many in his family and in the community and will be missed by everyone he touched. In lieu of flowers or other remembrances, the family requests that donations be made to the Animal Humane Association of New Mexico, 615 Virginia SE, Albuquerque, NM 87123, 505 255-5523. Private graveside services will be held by the family on Friday August 20, 2004. Arrangements are under the direction of: Fitzgerald and Son 3113 Carlisle NE 884-1188
