BENNETT -- Lawrence C. Bennett (known to his friends and family as Larry B.) passed away on Monday, August 16, 2004. He was born on Saturday, February 24, 1934, in Beloit, KS, and is survived by his loving wife, Linda Dominguez; brother, Richmond; sons, John, Aaron, and Jacob; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. Larry spent his teen years in Beloit, KS, joined the US Air Force and became a captain as a SAC pilot in his twenties. He then attended DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago, IL and graduated at the top of his class. In 1961, he moved to Albuquerque where he went to work for Sandia National Laboratory for thirty years as an electronic circuit designer. He retired from Sandia in 1990. Larry was a fifth degree black belt and a member of the board of directors of the Kojosho system of karate. He was much beloved by his family and friends and will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a program of food for pets of needy seniors, "Senior Pet Food Project," Dept. Senior Affairs, c/o Animal Humane Association, 615 Virginia SE, 87108. Friends and visitors will be received at the Bennett-Dominguez home on Friday, August 20, 2004 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. A public memorial service will be held at Apple Valley Ranch, Saturday, August 21, 2004, beginning at 11:00 a.m. Apple Valley Ranch is located in the Manzano Mountains, southeast of Albuquerque.
