JANIS -- Beverly J. Janis, 75, a resident of Albuquerque since 1967, passed away on Saturday, August 7, 2004 after losing her second battle with cancer. She is survived by her three children. Jerry Janis and wife, Ginny, Teresa McCarthy and husband, Jack, and Tim Janis, all of Albuquerque; four granddaughters, Michelle Janis, Stephanie Janis, Katie McCarthy and Colleen McCarthy. Beverly was born and raised in St. Paul, MN where she met and married her husband, Jerome W. Janis. He became a career officer in the U.S. Air Force and they took off on a 21-year journey of being stationed and living in many different places throughout the United States, Japan, Germany and Belgium, before Jerome retired in Albuquerque in 1970. After losing her husband in 1993, Bev's life centered on her children, granddaughters and a close circle of friends. She will be remembered as a person who took a sincere interest in the lives of people she met and was always eager to offer kindness and support. A Celebration Mass will be held Saturday, August 14, 2004 at 11:00 a.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Community Church, 12500 Carmel NE. The family will hold a private Interment at Santa Fe National Cemetery where Beverly will be laid to rest with her late husband Jerome.
