TRACEY -- Leo Tracey, Sr., 80, a resident of Albuquerque since 1948, born in Nazlini, Arizona and a member of the Navajo tribe, passed away on Friday, August 6, 2004. His father's clan was the Descheenie and his mother's clan was the Tsenabahilnii. He is survived by his sons, Leo Tracey, Jr., Norman Tracey and Sam Tracey all of Albuquerque; daughters, Norma Chackee and husband, Ray of Los Lunas, NM and Margaret Haskew and husband, Aaron of Albuquerque; grandchildren, Everett, Gwen, Mike and Tracie; great-grandchildren, Chad, Cheyenne, Damon and Dakota; sisters, Annie Shirley, Maggie Begay and Mildred Hubbard; many nieces and nephews; and other family members of Torreon, NM and Huerferno, NM and many friends. Mr. Tracey was preceded in death by his wife, Emma Tracey; his parents, Sam and Ye kas Bah Tracey; brothers, Benjamin, John, Willie and Felix Tracey. He was a veteran of the US Army serving in WWII in the Pacific Islands. Leo worked all of his life in construction and as a minister on the Navajo reservation as well as to many other tribes. God was the center of his life, any problem that anyone had, he would minister to them using the Bible for all of his answers in both the English and Navajo language. He loved life and was a "proud" Grandpa and will be deeply missed by his family and many, many friends. Leo was an avid Lakers fan and loved all sports. Services will be held on Wednesday, 10:00 a.m., French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul Blvd. NE. Friends may visit French Mortuary, University Blvd. Chapel on Tuesday, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. French Mortuary 1111 University Blvd. NE 843-6333
