GORDON -- Mamie Patricia Gordon, 77, a resident of Rio Rancho since 1974 and coming to New Mexico from New York passed away on Wednesday, August 4, 2004. Mamie was born June 17, 1927 the daughter of Earl and Patricia Samuels in Birmingham, England. She had moved to New York in 1950. Mamie was a member of the Meadowlark Senior Center, worked at the Rio Rancho Nursing and Rehabilitation Center for 11 years, helped raise many of her grandchildren, and she and her husband Bert had been the previous owners of Linwood Food Market in Albuquerque. Her hobbies included reading, traveling, and studying history. Mamie was preceded in death by her husband, Egbert in 1995; and by three sisters. She is survived by four children, Diane Albert and husband James of Rio Rancho, Andrew Gordon and his wife Lisa of Kingston, Jamaica, Melissa Gordon of Kingston, Jamaica, and Pamela Mincey and husband Jerone of Rio Rancho; one brother, Earl "Billy" Samuels and wife Peggy of Dublin, Ireland; nine grandsons; and eleven great-grandchildren. Mamie leaves behind a host of relatives, friends and loved ones in Ireland, England, Jamaica, and Australia. Visitation will be held on Monday, August 9, 2004 from 8:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m. with the Service being held at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of Vista Verde Mortuary, Sara Rd. at Meadowlark Ln., Rio Rancho with Rev.
