SMITH -- Mary Smith, 85, a resident of Albuquerque since 1951, went to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 18, 2004. She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Everett Smith; son, Kenneth Smith of Albuquerque; daughters, Lola Compton and husband, Don of Santa Fe, NM and Mary Helen Garrrison and husband, Ward of Solano, NM; grandchildren, Jonathan Compton of Albuquerque and Dawnya Fode and husband, Nikolas of Santa Fe, NM; great-granddaughter, Natasha Fode; brother, Ben Smith and wife, Betty of Springfield, MO; sister, Elda Peterson and husband, Edwin of Louisburg, MO; and many other family members and friends. Mary and Everett married in March, MO in 1942. She was a pastor's wife and was the heart and soul of every church they were in. They pastored churches in Mt. Shasta, CA, Lordsburg, NM, Socorro, NM and then in Albuquerque for the last 53 years. Her family and the church were her whole life. Services will be held Wednesday, 2:00 p.m. at Valley Gospel Tabernacle, 1820 Valley Rd. SW, with Pastor Steve Ulibarri officiating. Interment will follow at Sunset Memorial Park, 924 Menaul NE.
