SCHMITT -- Robert Schmitt, age 82, a resident of Albuquerque since 1964, passed away Monday, July 19, 2004 at Presbyterian Hospital after a long illness due to emphysema. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Bertha Schmitt; daughters, Jackie Schmitt and Carol Steele and husband, Jim; grandchildren, Misty Duffy and husband, Heath, Justin Ashcraft and wife, Lisa Mai, Adam Ashcraft and wife, Liza Ann and 4 great-grandchildren, Jacob Duffy, Hannah Duffy, Maya Ashcraft and Jordie Ashcraft; brothers, Joe and wife, Grace, Presley and wife, Sarah and sister, Alice Martinez. Robert enjoyed fishing, bowling and visiting the casinos. He will be greatly missed by all. A rosary will be recited on Thursday, July 22, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Friday, July 23, 2004 at 10:00 a.m. at Queen of Heaven Catholic Church, 5311 Phoenix NE. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
