KNEE -- Steve Knee, 44, a lifelong resident of Albuquerque, died suddenly on Saturday, June 19, 2004. He is survived by his wife, Helen Knee; children, Peter, Danielle, Nicholas, Amanda, Ciara, and Kristiana Knee; mother, Dora Knee-Brandt; brother, Danny Knee and wife Sarah; sister, Sandi Novak and husband Mike; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Pete Knee, and step-father, Joseph Brandt. Steve was born on May 26, 1960 and graduated from St. Pius X High School in 1978 and from UNM with a BS in civil engineering. He was co-owner of ABQ Engineering, and an avid sports enthusiast. As a youngster he played Little League Baseball, YAFL, and high school football. Following his love of football, he became a YAFL coach for more than 15 years. He also coached the freshman football teams at La Cueva High School and Cibola High School. Rosary will be recited on Wednesday, June 23, 2004 at 7:00 p.m. at Prince of Peace Catholic Community, 12500 Carmel NE. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, June 24, 2004 at 11:00 a.m., also at Prince of Peace, with Father Mike Shea celebrant. Burial will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Stephen R. Knee Memorial Fund at Bank of America, 11201 Montgomery Blvd. NE, 87111. Friends may visit French Mortuary, 7121 Wyoming Blvd. NE, Wednesday, June 23, 2004 from 2-5 p.m. Steve loved his family and his six children and his wife with a love so deep.
